According to Chicago police, officers were called to a residence just after midnight in the 6400 block of South Mozart for reports of a child that had been shot.
The child was rushed to an area hospital, and she was listed in critical condition according to police.
A person-of-interest was taken into custody at the scene, and a firearm was recovered from the residence.
