He won his first SEC matchup as Florida’s head coach last weekend, prevailing 44-39 on the road against the Auburn Tigers. While Sumrall’s Gators were putting up points on The Plains, Kiffin’s Tigers were falling to the Ole Miss Rebels — Florida’s Week 4 foe — in Oxford.
Despite the Rebels’ victories over LSU and Louisville, the Gators are favored to beat them in their Saturday afternoon affair. Sumrall would almost officially stamp himself as the long-term solution in The Swamp with a win. Ole Miss and Florida kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET (ABC).
