Women’s MVP: Claire Curzan, Virginia (95 points)
Curzan kicked off the night blasting the #4 performance all-time in the women’s 200 backstroke touching in a 1:46.85. That was only 0.76 seconds off her lifetime best and NCAA Record 1:46.09 that she swam in February at the 2026 ACC Championships. No one else was sub-1:50 in the race tonight
The Virginia senior continued her busy evening by posting back to back to back to back wins in the 50 backstroke skins race, consistently posting sub-24 second swims in the process. She swam to a 23.50 in round 1, a 23.59 in round 2, 23.47 in round 3, and a 23.74 in round 4.
Showing her versatility, Curzan went on to win the 100 fly in a 50.25, winning by over two seconds. Teammate Tess Howley was 2nd in a 52.33. She also helped Virginia’s Super Skins relay to four wins in a row, swimming the fly leg.
Men’s MVP: Thomas Heilman, Virginia (64 points)
Heilman saw his first win come in the 200 fly as he touched in a 1:40.54 to finish a second and a half ahead of Georgia’s Jacob Johnson as he touched in a 1:42.35.
He went on to finished 3rd in the men’s 50 free skins race, consistently finishing 3rd in each of the first three rounds of the event. He swam to a 19.76 in round 1, 20.17 in round 2, and a 20.20 in round 3. Earning a sweep in the butterfly events, he swam to a win in the 100 fly with a 45.19 to touch ahead of NC State’s Isaiah Aleksenko who swam to a 45.76.
In the final event of the night, Heilman swam the butterfly leg on all four rounds of Virginia’s Super Skins relay, giving the Cavaliers a huge lead heading into the freestyle leg on each relay.
