WARREN — Shirley Elaine Cain, 86, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026, at her home.
She was born Oct. 28, 1939, in Green County, Pa., the daughter of Arch and Mildred Moose Sole. She moved to Ohio in 1957 and began working at Packard Electric, working for 40 years until her retirement on Jan. 1, 1999.
Shirley married the love of her life, James L. Cain, on Oct. 14, 1960. They shared 58 years of marriage and many happy memories together until his passing March 20, 2019.
She attended the Bazetta Christian Church in Bazetta and the First Christian Church in Seminole, Florida, where she and her late husband spent their winters. Shirley loved spending time with her family, NASCAR and fishing on Lake Erie with her husband.
She is survived by her daughter, Colleen (Joseph) Chesmar of Warren; sister, Verena Wildhide; brother, Ralph (Karen) Sole; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Freda McVay, Charles Sole, Kathryn Cain, and an infant, Rex Sole.
Per her wishes, no services will take place.
Interment will be in Champion Township Cemetery, Champion.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that material contributions be made to Bazetta Christian Church, in her memory.
