ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Animal Services will be hosting its third Community Pet Food Pantry Friday at the Rochester Community Sports Complex.
The City of Rochester’s website says the pantry is meant to help people living in the city keep their pets healthy and in their homes by providing supplemental pet food during times of need. The city says the pantry is meant to supplement your pet’s food, not serve as their sole source of nutrition, so the pantry can help as many families as possible.
People looking to get food must bring a valid ID or a piece of mail showing your current City of Rochester address as proof of residency.
Households are limited to one pantry visit a month to make sure food is available for everyone who needs it, the city says. People going must also have a way to transport the pet food home, as the city doesn’t deliver.
The pantry is held on the second and fourth Friday of each month from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. The next two will be held on Friday, Oct. 9, and Friday, Oct. 23.
