WEST SPARTA, N.Y. — A 65-year-old woman is facing charges after being accused of making over $40,000 worth of unauthorized transactions from two people’s bank accounts.
The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office says a person within the county contacted them in December 2025 in regards to possible fraud. While investigating, the Sheriff’s Office was contacted by another person that made the same allegations.
Investigators say Robin Pifer made over $40,000 worth of transactions using the victim’s bank accounts without their knowledge from March 2024 through January 2026.
Pier was found and arrested on Wednesday. She’s charged with two counts of grand larceny, scheme to defraud, and identity theft. She’s currently being held at the Livingston County Jail.
