LYONS, N.Y. — State Police are looking for a man they say is wanted in connection to a burglary and assault that happened in the Town of Lyons earlier this month.
State Police say on Sept. 6, Matthew Butchino, 40, broke into a home on Canal Street and assaulted a victim. According to State Police, Butchino hit the victim multiple times using a hammer. State Police say he fled the scene before they got there.
The victim was later treated at Geneva Hospital for multiple cuts and a facial fracture. An arrest warrant has been issued for Butchino. He’s wanted on the following charges:
Two counts of burglary Assault Criminal possession of a weaponAnyone with information regarding Butchino’s whereabouts is asked to contact New York State Police at (585) 398-4100 or [email protected].
State Police advice people not to approach Butchino, and should contact law enforcement instead.
