ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Finger Lakes will be getting $8.2 million to improve and build various public playgrounds across the region.
Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Wednesday that $67.5 million will be going to 89 projects across the state to renovate and build public playgrounds.
Hochul says this funding will help municipalities and nonprofit organizations create and improve accessible outdoor spaces for children.
In the Finger Lakes region, the City of Rochester, Town of Gates, Town of Livonia, Village of Brockport and the City of Batavia are just some that will be getting funding.
Rochester will be getting the most, $1.2 million, to renovate the Trenton and Pamela Jackson R-Center playground.
