Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly led Egypt’s delegation at the opening of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) at UN Headquarters in New York on Tuesday, 22 September. Speaking at the Leaders’ Meeting on “Partnership for Multilateral Action, Security and Peace,” Madbouly emphasized the need to redirect the capacities of the international financial system toward greater fairness and to ensure it more accurately reflects the interests and needs of the Global South. He also stressed that the multilateral international system must remain at the center of these efforts, highlighting the role of the United Nations in providing assistance to help achieve shared global goals.
