The kangaroo got her out of a ticket, and she said, ‘Of course, I had Texas plates, too.’ I went, ‘Well, she’s from Texas, I can tell…’ Forty-five minutes later, we had the song written.”
“Choosin’ Texas” appears on Langley’s sophomore album, Dandelion, which spent three weeks atop the Billboard 200. The project fared even better on the Top Country Albums chart, where it’s logged 18 weeks at No. 1 to date.
“It feels surreal,” Langley previously told Billboard News of her signature song’s reach. “I think this has been the biggest moment for me, where I’ve seen where fans can change your career. For so long, you’re like, ‘Alright, one song at a time, one record at a time.’ But with this one song … man, have they taken ahold of it. It’s wild.”
