Some of The View’s most iconic television personalities will be returning for season 30 during Whoopi Goldberg’s brief break from the show.
Executive Producer Brian Teta announced on the show’s Behind The Table podcast that viewers will get to enjoy some of the show’s past panelists again.
These include Sherri Shepherd, Lisa Ling, Star Jones, and Debbie Matenopoulos. Jones and Matenopoulos were part of the show’s original lineup in 1997 when Barbara Walters launched the show.

Matenopoulos departed in 1998, and Jones left in 2006. Between 1999 and 2002, Ling co-hosted the show, and Shepherd served as a panelist from 2007 to 2014. Shepherd later had her own show, Sherri, which ran from 2022 to 2026.
“We’re going to lose you for a couple of days,” Teta shared on the podcast, explaining that Goldberg, 70, will be filming a Netflix movie called Women Like Us. The movie will be produced by Barack and Michelle Obama, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Goldberg, who has hosted the show since 2007, rose to fame in the ‘80s with acclaimed movies like The Color Purple, Ghost, and Sister Act. She is one of only 22 EGOT winners and won an Emmy award for Outstanding Talk Show Host in 2009 for her work on The View.
Viewers can watch the former co-hosts at the Hot Topics table over the following two weeks. They will appear on different days, with Jones and Ling appearing twice and Matenopoulos and Shepherd returning for one episode each. Joy Behar, who was also among the original 1997 panelists, will serve as moderator.
The View airs weekdays on ABC.
