Jayden Daniels was forced to leave Sunday afternoon’s Week 2 game against the Dallas Cowboys with a nasty elbow injury, with the former LSU star quarterback and current Washington Commanders signal-caller writhing in pain afterward.
The injury happened on the final play of the 1st half, on a 3rd-and-goal play from the Cowboys’ 1 -yard line. With host Dallas leading 17-10, Daniels appeared to be stepped on by 1 of his offensive linemen after taking the snap.
With Daniels falling to the turf, he tried to use his left arm to keep his balance and stay up. But his left elbow bent back severely, and it not only put Daniels in severe pain, it’s going to keep him out for the rest of the rivalry matchup with the Cowboys. Marcus Mariota replaced Daniels to start the 2nd half.
Daniels dislocated his left elbow last season, so Sunday’s injury was of particular concern because it was to the same elbow. He was carted off the field on Sunday as both teams jogged off to head to their locker rooms for halftime.
