During the show cohosted by Jason Kelce, Cruise — who attended the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Denver Broncos earlier that week, was sitting next to Swift in a box suite at Arrowhead Stadium — recalled how the pop star had been telling him about her first date with Travis. As Swift herself previously revealed, she’d asked her now-husband in one of their first conversations what it was like to face off against his older brother during the Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl of 2023, not realizing that both Kelces played offense and were never playing on the field at the same time.
When Cruise brought it up, Travis smiled and remembered how the 14-time Grammy winner used to think “we were basically out there boxing each other on the field.”
“Like, sweetie, what the heck?” the Grotesquerie star continued lovingly before shouting out how quickly and thoroughly Swift picked up all there is to know about his sport. “Now she knows everything. She sees the flags coming in, like, ‘Oh, that might be a defensive hold.’ [I’m] like, ‘What’d you say, sweetie?’ She’s like, ‘That’s encroachment.’ I’m like, ‘You know what that is?’”
“She’s on it now,” Travis added of Swift. “She fully engulfed in it.”
Jason also recalled how fun it was to attend a Chiefs game with Swift earlier on in her relationship with Travis and “seeing how much Tay [was] into football, like, asking questions.”
“She was schooling me,” Cruise said, confirming Swift’s football proficiency before praising the newlyweds. “Just a beautiful couple. It’s lovely in every way.”
Travis, who married Swift in July in an extravagant wedding ceremony at Madison Square Garden in New York City, also compared her fervor for the sport to her lifelong passion for her artistry. “From the story to the rhythm to the visual that you’re getting, she just gets engulfed in it, and she loves it,” he said proudly.
The Chiefs vs. Broncos game attended by Swift and Cruise was the teams’ first of the new season. That same day, the 2026 Emmys took place, featuring a pre-filmed Law & Order: Special Victims Unit skit in which the Eras headliner guest starred alongside Emmys host and SVU star Mariska Hargitay. In it, Swift seemingly shared Easter eggs about something she has in the works, possibly a follow-up to her 2025 album, The Life of a Showgirl, which topped the Billboard 200 for 12 weeks.
“Saccharide. Aries. From the Vineyard. North or south,” Swift said cryptically into the camera during the sketch.
On the latest regularly scheduled episode of New Heights, the Kelce brothers reflected on a different facet of Swift joining their family, revealing that Jason’s daughters — Wyatt, Elliotte, Bennett and Finn, whom he shares with Kylie Kelce — took a long time to stop calling their new aunt by her full name.
“When they got to meet Aunt Tay Tay, they were calling her ‘Taylor Swift,’” Travis said, laughing.
“‘Taylor Swift, can I do this? Taylor Swift!’” Jason recalled them saying, having to remind them, “’You can call her Taylor.’”
