Julian Granison of West Palm Beach, Florida has announced his verbal commitment to continue his academic and athletic career at the University of Florida beginning in fall 2027. He is a “Best of the Rest” ranked recruit in the boys high school class of 2027.
“I’m excited to announce my verbal commitment to the university of Florida. Thank you to Coach jack and Coach nesty for giving me an opportunity to join the gator family. And thank you to my wonderful mom for supporting me. Thank you God for aligning my path. Go gators!!”
Granison swims for the Jupiter Dragons Swim Team and Wahoos of Wellington, and has competed for both Wellington High School and Jupiter High School. He most recently swam at Summer Juniors at the start of August. There he was highlighted by a 2nd place finish in the 50 free with a lifetime best 22.31. He also swam a lifetime best 49.94 in the 100 free to earn a 3rd place finish. His final ‘A’ final appearance came in the 50 fly with a 24.52 for 5th.
Last November, Granison swam to a high school state title in the 50 free with a 20.11 at the FHSAA Class 4A State Championship. He swam a lifetime best 20.07 during prelims.
Granison’s Best SCY Times Are:
50 free: 19.94 100 free: 43.64 100 fly: 48.36The Florida men finished 2nd at the 2026 NCAA Championships with 416 points, finishing only behind Texas’ 445.5 points. Josh Liendo led the team with three individual wins, touching 1st in the 50 free, 100 free, and 100 fly. The Gator men finished 2nd at the 2026 SEC Championships, also finishing behind Texas.
Based on his best times, Granison is not far off what it took to final at SECs this past season as it took a 19.57 in the 50 free. The Florida men had two ‘A’ finalists, one ‘B’ finalist, and two ‘C’ finalists in the 50 free this past February. It took a 42.95 to final in the 100 free.
Granison will arrive in fall 2027 as a member of the class of 2031 along with Griffin Oehler and Trent Allen.
