All dads are really alike, even if yours was once the president of the United States.
On Thursday’s episode of Jenna and Sheinelle, co-host and former first daughter Jenna Bush Hager called her dad, former president George W. Bush and in their sweet and funny chat, he made one error that would make any daughter cringe.
Surprised that he even picked up the phone, Bush shared how he’s yet to meet his daughter’s co-host, Sheinelle Jones but would “like to shake her hand.” Jones sweetly gushed over his relationship with Hager, but at one point the former president slipped up and called Jones, “Michelle,” instead of Sheinelle.
Taking the surprise opportunity to plug his new art book, Call of Freedom, out in March, Bush joked, “I would doubt that” when his daughter asked if he would come and promote the book on her show.
“You’re saying you’re not going to come meet Sheinelle in person?” Hager asked. “I’d like to but why don’t you and Michelle come down to Dallas?” he replied, before correcting himself after Jenna called him out.
“Sheinelle, not Michelle!” she said, as Jones cracked up.
“That’s what I meant, Sheinelle,” he said.
The two co-hosts also joked about adding the former president’s book to Jenna’s book club, Read With Jenna.

While the conversation was a bit of a rollercoaster, the former Commander in chief closed out by thanking Jones, who became Hager’s co-host earlier this year, for “being such good friends to Jenna.”
“I wish you girls all the best,” he added.
To which Sheinelle replied, “Thank you for being a good dad to Jenna, I know you guys have a beautiful relationship and I just think you’re a good man.”
After hanging up, the co-hosts cracked up at the fact that he called Jones by the wrong name.
“Dads, they’re all the same,” Jenna said, while Jones noted, “That was really special, that was really sweet.”
