Registration information for Chicago’s biggest races in 2027 has been announced.

Applications for the Bank of America Chicago Distance Series – which includes the Chicago 13.1, the Chicago Marathon and the Shamrock Shuffle – begin as early as Tuesday, organizers announced.

“The fifth annual Bank of America Chicago Distance Series marks an exciting moment in Chicago running history,” Carey Pinkowski, executive race director of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon, Chicago 13.1 and Shamrock Shuffle, said in a statement. “Participation and interest in the Distance Series have grown every year, which is a direct result of the running community’s dedication. We would not have achieved this milestone without the continued support of our participants, and we look forward to welcoming returning and new runners to the streets of Chicago in 2027 as we launch registration for next year’s events.”

Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle

The annual Shamrock Shuffle 8K race is known in Chicago as the kickoff to outdoor running season, often coinciding with the city’s St. Patrick’s Day festivities.

The 2027 race will take place on March 21 in and around Chicago’s Loop.

Registration opened Tuesday and costs $51 for those who sign up before Oct. 21. After that, the cost rises to $56.

Registration is also open for the race’s Mile event that same day, or 2-Mile Walk event on March 21.

The entry fee for The Mile event is $25 and $15 for participants ages 8 to 12. Meanwhile, registration for the 2-Mile Walk is $51.

Bank of America Chicago 13.1

Chicago’s annual 13.1 takes place on the city’s West Side each year. The 2027 half marathon race will take place on June 6.

Registration is now open, with the entry fee sitting at $120.

Bank of America Chicago Marathon

Registration for Chicago’s biggest race of the year will open on Oct. 8 — just days before the 2026 event.

The 2027 Chicago Marathon will take place on Oct. 10, 2027.

The application period will be open for three weeks, but how you enter will depend on a few things.

Registration will open at 8 a.m. CT, with potential runners having until 2 p.m. CT on Oct. 29 to apply for either guaranteed or non-guaranteed entry.

Registration fees are $250 for U.S. residents and $260 for those outside of the U.S.
