ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Temperatures got as low as the mid and upper 40s across Western New York this morning, leaving a fall-like chill to the air. However, we will warm up to more seasonable levels this afternoon as highs reach the mid 70s. There’s a small chance for light showers around 9-10am, but emphasis on the word “small”. The rest of the day will stay dry and partly to mostly cloudy, then tonight won’t be as cool as a warm front cross the region and temperatures get down to the low and mid 60s. There will also likely be some showers overnight.
A cold front then approaches tomorrow morning, and with increased humidity that means there will be some scattered showers at that time, but nothing intense. The rest of Wednesday is looking mostly cloudy, muggy and mild with highs in the low to mid 70s.
The cold front will then stall over the region, bringing increased chances for unsettled weather on Thursday. There is some indication that the most intense weather may stay to our south, but you’ll want to check back in for updates. Rain may linger into the start of the Bills game, but dry conditions take over by halftime.
High pressure then moves in on Friday, which will clear our skies and drop our humidity, but also bring back fall-like temperatures with highs in the upper 60s. This weekend is looking like a mixed bag with most of Saturday staying dry, then a chance of showers later in the day, followed by more chances for showers during the day Sunday.
Fall officially begins next Tuesday, and with it comes fall-like temperatures with multiple days in a row trending towards the 60s. It will also likely be a wet start to the fall season. The leaves will start changing before we know it!
