Israeli military Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir on Mondayinstructed the military advocate general to examine possible legal action over theaward-winning documentary Naza, which examines Israeli crimes against civiliansin the Gaza.
The film won the Special Jury Prize on Saturday at the 83rdVenice International Film Festival in Italy. Produced by Britain’s Guardiannewspaper, it was directed by Oscar-winning Israelis Yuval Abraham and RachelSur.
According to Israeli media outlets, Zamir ordered aninformation security review to identify who may have leaked “classifiedmaterials” used in the documentary, as well as the formation of a team ofIsraeli and international experts to address “false allegations” against themilitary.
