ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A 36-year-old man is facing various charges after Rochester Police say he shot a man back in June.
The investigation started on June 6 when police say they got a report of a walk-in shooting victim at Rochester General Hospital. Officers responded and found the victim, a man in his 30s, with multiple non-life threatening gunshot wounds to the upper body.
Investigators say they learned that the victim was sitting in his car outside of a grocery store on North Clinton Avenue when the suspect, Jaquawn Johnson, came up to him and fired multiple shots into his car, hitting the victim.
On Friday, police say the United States Marshal’s Task Force found Johnson hiding inside a bed at a home on First Street in the city and took him into custody.
Johnson is charged with murder in the second degree, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon in the second and third degrees. He was also served with an outstanding bench warrant for aggravated harassment.
He’s currently being held at the Monroe County Jail.
