ROCHESTER, N.Y. — On Friday, around 1:45 a.m., Rochester police officers stopped a Nissan on Joseph Avenue, near Hoeltzer Street, to run a traffic stop. This later led to the driver being arrested after police say a ghost gun was found.
During the stop, police say 19-year-old Ramel Johnson was found with an extended magazine sticking out from next to him. He was safely taken from the car when a loaded ghost gun with an extended magazine was taken by officers, police added.
Johnson was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second, third, and fourth degrees, and several other traffic violations. He was taken to the Monroe County Jail and released after being arraigned in Rochester City Court.
