CHILI, N.Y. — Wegmans joined companies across the country to partner with 9/11 Day for a meal packing event.
News10NBC stopped by the event at the Wegmans warehouse in Chili. The event brought together more than 400 volunteers.
News10NBC reporters Jennifer Lewke and Kristi Blake were among the volunteers packing food. The meals will be distributed by Foodlink and given to people who are food insecure in the Rochester area.
“The whole point is to turn something that was a tragic event into something good and to pay it forward,” said Deana Percassi, vice president of communication and engagement. “And this is the way that we pay it forward.”
