Former Pakistan National Cricket Team player Sikander Bakht urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to protect a talent like Razaullah, who has emerged as a sensation for the present Pakistan cricket team amid their hard times in England.
In the ongoing three-match Test series against the England National Cricket Team, nothing went in favour of the touring side until, in the third match in Birmingham, a 21-year-old fast bowler, Razaullah, hit the deck with sheer pace.
After years, the world witnessed a pace bowler from Pakistan who is capable of clocking around 150 kmph. While most of the Pakistan cricket fans are said to dream about a new dawn with Razaullah, the former Pakistan cricketer Sikander Bakht raised a serious issue.
Bakht noted that for the first ten overs in the spell against England, the emerging pacer bowled around 145 kmph, and tipped to touch the 150 kmph mark as well. But after the ten overs, his pace gradually started to decrease, which is a matter of concern for the former cricketer, and he warned the Pakistan team management as well.
"Since this Test match has started, we have been talking about how we have got a new boy who can bowl at 145 kmph. This is a very good thing", Sikander Bakht opined.
"There are two things in this. Number one, it was said that he can bowl above 150 kmph. This means that our High Performance Centre's speed readings are not correct. He was bowling at 145 kmph. This is a very good thing. We have seen a 145 kmph bowler in Pakistan after a long time. I was looking at one thing: what would happen after 10 overs?" He raised the question.
Razaullah may not yet be ready for Test cricket
The former cricketer,r in his online video, showing some still photos on the display, highlighted that after the first ten overs, the seamer dropped significantly. The bowler, who was bowling around 145, went well below 140.
"Today, when he came to bowl in the 11th and 12th overs, his pace was 136 and 135 kmph. His pace had dropped. The reason for this was that he had taken a rest, and his body had become stiff. His body was not ready. I wanted to see whether his body was ready or not. Come, I will show you his speed," Sikander Bakht addressed the issue.
"I want to tell you a few things. There is a difference between net bowling and match bowling. He was bowling at 150 kmph in the nets. In the match, he was bowling at 145 kmph. After 10 overs, he was bowling at 135 kmph."
Sikander Bakht urges Pakistan team management to prepare Razaullah
Sikander Bakht mentioned that the bowler's body might not be ready yet to play Test matches. So he requested the Pakistan team management to take proper care of the emerging cricketer.
"Now, the cricket board should work with him. For God's sake, I beg you, don't change his bowling action. Let him bowl as he is. His muscles and body have developed. Don't change his bowling action. Give him matches. Give him enough stamina to bowl so that he can bowl at 135 kmph even after 10 overs," he continued.
