MobLand star Pierce Brosnan has dismissed rumours of behind-the-scenes drama involving Tom Hardy, saying it was nothing more than a "storm in a teacup".
Reports earlier this year claimed that there was growing frustration between Hardy and head writer Jez Butterworth while filming the Guy Ritchie crime drama, prompting speculation about whether the Mad Max: Fury Road actor would return for a third season.
However, speaking to PA at the season 2 premiere in London, Brosnan said: "Oh my God, it was a storm in a teacup, really. I love the dude. I love Tom Hardy. I’m a massive fan of the man’s work. Truly."
The former James Bond star continued: "We are rock solid as a company, as a family. Everyone shows up for work, and everybody’s just there on the spot. It moves very fast so it’s not like we go out and socialise and go to the pub or anything like that."
It was confirmed earlier this month that MobLand will be coming back for a third season and that Hardy will return alongside Brosnan and Dame Helen Mirren.
Speaking to PA at the premiere, Hardy said of his two co-stars: "In many aspects, of course, I look up to them. Coming up, these are actors that came before me.
"So to be able to work with them is a privilege, but also to be able to enjoy them, watching them spread their wings with their range now as well, and play against their type in some aspects, and really enjoy that, is a beautiful thing to watch as a human being."

It’s yet to be confirmed whether anyone else from the cast will be returning, but other actors who could be set to return – depending on how season 2 unfolds, of course – include Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Mandeep Dhillon, Jasmine Jobson, Teddie Allen, Emmett J. Scanlan, Johnny Flynn, Ophelia Lovibond, Janet McTeer and Toby Jones.
