ABC is bringing together some of its most recognizable journalists for a special live broadcast commemorating the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks.
David Muir, Robin Roberts and Diane Sawyer will anchor 9/11 Tribute in Light: Live From Lower Manhattan on Friday, Sept. 11, at 8 p.m. ET. The one-hour special will air simultaneously on ABC, Disney+, Hulu, National Geographic, ABC News Live and participating ABC Owned Television Stations’ livestreams.
Produced in collaboration with the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, the broadcast will honor the nearly 3,000 people killed in the attacks and reflect on the courage of the survivors, families, first responses and communities forever changed by that day.

The live national broadcast will originate from Lower Manhattan and incorporate documentary storytelling from National Geographic, digital experiences and educational material developed with the 9/11 Memorial & Museum.
According to ABC, the program will remember the victims, explore the attacks’ lasting impact and preserve stories of courage and resilience for a generation that did not experience September 11 firsthand.
“Through the storytelling power of our platforms, we will mark this solemn anniversary with programming that honors the victims and their families,” Disney Entertainment Television Chairman Debra OConnell said in a statement.
