Four days into LEAP 2026, I was struck by the fast pace at which Saudi Arabia is converting AI ambition into real capabilities. As Intel’s Regional General Manager for the Middle East and Africa, I have watched this transformation build over several years. But at this year’s LEAP, the direction was unmistakable: the Kingdom is moving beyond adopting global technology and increasingly building, testing, and commercializing “local Saudi” solutions. Across the event, Intel announced multiple new collaborations spanning infrastructure, connectivity, skills, and research. Each is meaningful. Together, they reflect a wider shift: Saudi Arabia is strengthening the foundations required to develop AI solutions locally and scale their impact globally. These efforts are closely aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, supporting the Kingdom’s ambition to diversify its economy, strengthen digital sovereignty, develop national talent, and create globally competitive technology industries. The Saudi Made, Developed, Deployed initiative, launched with HPE and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, is a clear example. It brings together locally assembled servers powered by Intel Xeon 6 processors, Saudi-developed software, and local talent to accelerate the development, validation, and commercialization of solutions inside the Kingdom. Lenovo’s announcement of its first laptop manufactured in Saudi Arabia during LEAP 2026 also reflects a broader shift toward localizing advanced manufacturing and building domestic technology capabilities. Lenovo’s first Saudi-manufactured laptop, announced at LEAP 2026, signals growing momentum for local advanced manufacturing. In the coming months, Lenovo plans to expand local production across desktops, workstations, and servers to support Saudi and wider MEA AI growth. **media[2763658]** Our memorandum of understanding with stc group will explore AI technologies across AI PCs, edge AI, hybrid AI, and next-generation power optimized data-center infrastructure, with a focus on translating these capabilities into practical value for businesses. Our collaboration with Mobily and iOmniscient will examine AI-powered video analytics that can help create safer, smarter, and more responsive cities. Talent is equally critical. Our work with Tuwaiq Academy, together with the Intel AI Digital Readiness initiative with MCIT and the National eLearning Center-targeting 100,000 beneficiaries by 2030-reflects a conviction we hold strongly: infrastructure alone is not enough. Sustainable AI leadership depends on people with the skills to build, deploy, and scale it. We are celebrating the 25th anniversary of Intel’s presence in Saudi. Rather than simply looking back at milestones, it is worth considering what has changed in how we operate here. Two decades ago, conversations were largely about deploying technology developed elsewhere. Today, they are increasingly about co-developing technology inside the Kingdom, with Saudi engineers, Saudi data, and Saudi priorities aligned with Vision 2030. That is a fundamentally different relationship. It changes where we invest, how we collaborate, and how we define success. Looking ahead, the priority for Intel’s next chapter is straightforward to enable Saudi’s vision to turn into a technology hub for the region and globally utilizing the Kingdom’s local talent, resources, and partnerships. We are committed to achieving these goals and delivering to the agreements we announced at LEAP 2026. It means seeing locally developed AI applications running in production. Meaning also seeing Saudi-assembled servers reaching regional markets, and seeing graduates of our skills programs become the engineers, entrepreneurs, and innovators who build solutions-not simply use them. Saudi Arabia’s AI ambitions extend beyond its borders. As the Kingdom develops the infrastructure, talent, and applications to strengthen its own digital economy, it is also positioning itself as an anchor for AI-led growth across the wider Middle East and Africa. That is the story now taking shape: not only a national success, but a regional growth story with Saudi Arabia increasingly at its center. **media[2763657]**
