Biographer Josephine Riesman is the NYT bestselling author of Ringmaster: Vince McMahon and the Unmaking of America and the Hugo finalist True Believer: The Rise and Fall of Stan Lee.
As publisher Simon & Schuster puts it, “the true story of Beck in the nineties and beyond has never been told,” perhaps giving The Last Temptation an added level of anticipation.

And regarding the Grammy winner’s upcoming album, Ride Lonesome is a reunion between Beck and several musicians with whom he toured years ago and who helped record some of his most well-known records, including Sea Change, Morning Phase and Mutations.
The returning collaborators include Smokey Hormel, Joey Waronker, Justin Meldal-Johnsen, Roger Joseph Manning Jr. and Jason Falkner. Nigel Godrich, who previously worked with Beck on Sea Change and Mutations, returned to mix the album.
The singer-songwriter commented on the process, saying in a statement, “It had been a decade since we went in the studio and recorded Morning Phase. This time It felt like the playing and the chemistry had evolved and deepened— a sound that’s come together over the decades of working together.”
