ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — The Buffalo Bills will play their first regular season game this weekend when they travel to Houston to take on the Texans.
News10NBC’s Ian Mills was at practice Wednesday as the team prepared for Sunday’s season opener. This marks the first time since January that the Bills have a game that counts in the standings.
The matchup presents a tough challenge for quarterback Josh Allen, who is 1-4 against Houston in his career. Allen has completed just 33 of 64 attempts over his last contests against the Texans defense.
However, Head Coach Joe Brady said he’s not worried about the small sample size.
“We’re just trying to score one more point than them. I don’t care. There’s no such thing as an ugly win,” Brady said. “If we change who we are based upon who we’re playing, then we’re not the type of team that you know we want to be.”
Both the Bills and Texans went 12-5 last season and lost in the AFC’s divisional round. Kickoff in Texas is set for 1 p.m. Sunday.
