Syria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairsand Expatriates on Wednesday condemned Israeli Prime Minister BenjaminNetanyahu’s “illegal” entry into Syrian territory and his visit tothe Mount Hermon area, describing the moveas provocative and a blatantviolation of Syria’s sovereignty and international law.

The ministry said continued Israeli incursionsand attacks inside Syrian territory represented “a dangerousescalation” that threatens security and stability across the region.

Damascus held Israel fully responsible for theconsequences of the violations. It also called on theUnited Nations, international organizations, andinfluential states to fulfill their responsibilities by workingto halt the attacks and restore the 1974 Disengagementof Forces Agreement between Syria and Israel.
