He has a 181 wRC+ in 55 plate appearances, with eight RBIs and three stolen bases. He continued his incredible season against left-handed pitching on Monday, opening the scoring against the Brewers with his first home run in a Cubs uniform, which was sent 419 feet into the left-field seats.

Holmes has allowed just five earned runs in 29 innings with the Cubs, and only one run in his last 25 innings. The right-hander has been as good as advertised, continuing to produce ground balls at an elite rate.
Jefferson Rojas, whom the Cubs sent to New York in the deal, is off to a hot start with his new team as well, hitting seven home runs in his first 22 games with the Double-A Binghamton Rumble Ponies. The 21-year-old has a .912 OPS since joining the Mets organization, with 25 RBIs and 18 runs.
We’re at the point in the season where Counsell has to play the best nine available, no matter the contract status or seniority. The Cubs need to start winning games, and they need to start winning games fast.
