According to Tina Brown, former editor-in-chief of Vanity Fair and The New Yorker, she also revealed that Markle was dropped from starring in the series and that the casting was “withdrawn.” She claims it was due to the backlash she’s received for moving back to the UK.
“The backlash in the U.K. was so intense, it became untenable to go forward. This does not bode well for Meghan’s acting comeback in the U.K.,” she said.
James also revealed their ambitions for The Gentlemen and their desire to “expand the world, go to different countries.” As of right now, it’s “still very much up in the air.”
