ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A 17-year-old boy is facing charges after Rochester Police say he had a handgun.
Just after midnight Wednesday, officers saw the teen walking into a corner store on Clifford Avenue. Police say they recognized him as his house was recently hit by bullets.
Police say when they went to go talk to the teen, they saw a handgun in his sweatpants pocket. They say from further investigation, they learned the teen had hidden a gun underneath a case of drinks before officers went into the store.
The teen was brought to Youth Part for arraignment, and then the Monroe County Children’s Center. He’s charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second and third degrees.
