The highly anticipated second season of The Gentlemen is set to introduce a whole host of new characters, played by the likes of Hugh Bonneville and Maya Jama.
One of the most crucial new additions to the cast is Benedetta Porcaroli (The Leopard) and her character Bella, who has a romance with Theo James's Eddie in season 2.
Sitting alongside James and Susie star Kaya Scodelario, Porcaroli spoke with Radio Times about her new character, saying: "I am the stepdaughter of this Italian businessman, who is very powerful. So she kind of knows the world of criminals.
"I would say she's a strong woman. She has a strong personality. She understands the room, but she's not really interested in that kind of business. And she falls in love with Eddie."
James then added "We fall in love," to which Scodelario joked "Awkward!" and "Next time," referring to her character's evident romantic tension with Eddie.
Referring to the romantic storyline, James added: "Yeah, and that's a part of the characters as well, a softening. You get to see a different side of Susie, and Eddie, but yeah, they [Eddie and Bella] fall in love, and there's a whole story around that. It's a kind of different element of the character."
Alongside James and Scodelario, other cast members returning from season 1 include Daniel Ings, Vinnie Jones, Ray Winstone, Joely Richardson, Jasmine Blackborow and Giancarlo Esposito.
The synopsis for season 2 says: "It’s been one year since Eddie and Susie joined forces to work together in Bobby’s criminal empire overseas. As they drive to expand their enterprise, the decisions Bobby is making seem to be increasingly unsound. Now Eddie and Susie must decide whether to take action or risk losing it all, but unfettered ambition never ends well…"
Thankfully, as fans dive into the new batch of episodes, they already know that even more is on the way, as the show has already been renewed for season 3.
