Directed by Sue Kim, Always Lalisa will open in global cinemas and IMAX on Oct. 12 before it heads to streaming on YouTube Premium later in the year. Tickets for the screenings will go on sale Sept. 9 via the film’s website.
A description of the project explains that Always Lalisa chronicles LISA’s “transformative year away from BLACKPINK,” which she spent working on debut solo album Alter Ego — it reached No. 7 on the Billboard 200 in 2025 — and filming her acting debut on White Lotus. “As the group pauses activities, LISA embarks on the first true chapter of her solo career, confronting the question of who she is beyond BLACKPINK,” it reads.

The announcement of Always Lalisa‘s theatrical release comes about a month after the time and place of its premiere were revealed: Sept. 18, at the Toronto International Film Festival.
