ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Two people were injured in two separate shootings on Wednesday morning, both around Monroe Avenue.
Rochester Police say the first shooting happened just after 12:30 a.m. on Woodlawn Street off Monroe Avenue. Officers found the victim, 42, with at least one gunshot wound. An ambulance rushed him to the hospital, and he is expected to survive.
While investigating that shooting, officers said they heard at least one shot fired nearby around 1:20 a.m. Officers rushed to Monroe Avenue and learned that a private car was taking a man, 36, to the hospital to treat an upper-body gunshot wound. He is expected to survive, and police determined that he was shot on Monroe Avenue between Meigs and Goodman streets.
RPD is still investigating what led up to both shootings and hasn’t said whether they’re connected. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
