Hello and welcome to deadline day – like Christmas Day but for people who spend a lot of time on Twitter.
This summer’s finale has an extra special feel to it because it marks the end of the most eye-watering and complex transfer windows in Premier League history.
Top-flight clubs have taken their spending past the £3bn mark, with Tottenham the biggest spenders of all with an outlay of more than £300m. Liverpool have also gone big on Bradley Barcola, Manchester United finally landed Carlos Baleba and Arsenal have brought in Ezri Konsa from a thoroughly dismantled Aston Villa.
There is set to be a flurry of movement over the next few hours – with the window finally slamming shut at 11pm.

Kat LucasFootball News EditorTottenham have agreed a deal for Kevin Danso to join Sunderland after rebuffing the Black Cats’ initial approach. The centre-back will move to the Stadium of Light on loan with an obligation to buy for £25m. Mikey Moore has also finalised a loan to FC Koln that was agreed several weeks ago but was contingent of Spurs finding a replacement.
Richarlison’s future is up in the air after a series of Instagram posts in which he suggested he would not be forced into an Everton return. Although they were separate deals, the move for Iliman Ndiaye to go the other way has also collapsed – it’s now expected that the Everton winger will join Manchester City.
Spurs will replace Danso by signing Tosin Adarabioyo in a deal believed to be in the region of £7m. Mykhailo Mudryk will follow him from Chelsea in a loan, with an option to buy of around £75m.
