Egypt to impose US$ 15 visa fee starting January 2027

Egypt has imposed a new fee of US$15 – or its equivalent in foreign currency – for entry and transit visas effective January 1, 2027, according to a decree issued by the Prime Minister and published in the Official Gazette.

The Official Gazette published Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly’s decree specifying the fees for entry and transit visas issued by Egyptian authorities, as well as certain consular services provided by Egyptian embassies and consulates abroad.

According to the decision, the fee for each entry or transit visa issued by Egyptian authorities at ports of entry, as well as for each visa or consular service provided through Egyptian embassies and consulates abroad, will be US$15, or its equivalent in foreign currency.

The Prime Minister’s decision stipulates that the new fees will take effect on January 1, 2027, and supersedes all provisions that contradict the new decision.

The decision comes within the framework of defining and unifying the fees associated with entry and transit visas and consular services, after the fees were subject to different controls and values depending on the type of service.
