McDermott has secured a mega engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contract from Adnoc for Package 4 of the Umm Shaif Integrated Gas Cap and Surface Pressure Boosting Project.
The project is part of Adnoc’s Umm Shaif Long Term Development Plan, aimed at maximising gas recovery and increasing production from the field.
McDermott and its Qingdao McDermott Wuchuan consortium will deliver the complete EPCI scope for a new surface pressure boosting facility, including construction and installation of an offshore jacket and topside, along with associated brownfield modifications.
Once completed, the topside is expected to rank among the heaviest offshore modules installed in the Middle East.
Engineering and project management will be led from McDermott’s UAE offices, while fabrication will take place at Qingdao McDermott Wuchuan’s joint venture yard in Qingdao, China.
“This award reflects Adnoc’s confidence in McDermott’s ability to deliver complex offshore developments safely and efficiently,” said Mike Sutherland, McDermott’s Senior Vice President, Offshore Middle East. “Leveraging our extensive regional experience and integrated execution capabilities, we look forward to supporting Adnoc’s production objectives and contributing to the UAE’s long-term energy ambitions.”
“We are proud to expand our role in the advancement of the Umm Shaif field in a strategic and reliable manner and in line with Adnoc’s vision for sustainable energy growth,” added Angela De Vincentis, McDermott’s Vice President of Operations, Offshore Middle East
