Chennai Super Kings (CSK) CEO Kashi Vishwanathan dismisses all of the speculations surrounding MS Dhoni's future in the club ahead of the 2027 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In a statement, the CEO said that Dhoni has not yet informed the club about his retirement from the league.
Kashi Vishwanathan also addressed the reports which have claimed Dhoni demanded franchise ownership. According to the CSK CEO, reports which claimed about Dhoni's stake are completely baseless.
On August 30, Kushan Sarkar, a PTI reporter in his 'X' post, shared a few comments of Kashi Vishwanathan to clear the ongoing speculations over MS Dhoni's future in the club.
"The rumours are completely baseless," according to the 'X' post, CSK CEO said in reposnse to the claims which suggested the former India cricketer wants a massive stake of the company.
"Dhoni hasn't yet said he won't play. So lets wait," Vishwanathan stated when he was asked whether the legendary keeper-batter will play in the 2027 season.
Former Team India captain Kris Srikkanth and his son Aniruddha put some on the long-running rumour about MS Dhoni's future in CSK ahead of the IPL 2027 season. It was heavily speculated that the former India and CSK captain asked the franchise for a stake in the company. Krish and his son Aniruddha discussed the matter on their official YouTube channel to find out what exactly was going on behind the scenes.
Anirudha Srikkanth, who played for the Chennai Super Kings in the past, made some huge claims in the YouTube video. Anirudha claimed that, according to the updates he got from his cricketing circles, MS Dhoni wants a large chunk of the franchise ownership, which the franchise may not want to accept.
Standoff between MS Dhoni and CSK ahead of IPL 2027?
The former CSK cricketer, from the reports he received, informed that Dhoni wanted 25-18% ownership of the franchise, but the franchise could offer their former skipper only 3 to 5 percentage points of it.
Because of the difference between the demand and the proposed stake, the relationship between the cricketer and the franchise can be affected in the near future. As of now, there is a stalemate between Dhoni and CSK, according to Anirudha's claims.
"In the cricketing circle, this has been going on for the last one or two years. MS Dhoni wants a stake in the CSK franchise in his retirement. He wants an ownership stake. In fact, last year itself, I heard that they were close to agreeing," Anirudha Srikkanth said in the video.
"But the latest transfer rumour is that they are offering 3-5% and MS Dhoni is asking for 25-18%. So there is a huge gap in valuation between the two parties. And right now, apparently there is a stalemate. So if it doesn't get sorted, we might see the end of MS Dhoni in CSK," he added,More to follow.....
