CHARLOTTE — Multiple emergency agencies are searching Lake Ontario for a missing boater about 1.5 miles offshore of Charlotte Pier.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit learned about the missing swimmer through the maritime emergency channel this evening. Multiple 911 calls confirmed the report.
Sheriff’s Office members, Rochester Police Department, Rochester Fire Department, Irondequoit Fire Department, West Webster Fire Department, United States Coast Guard and New York State Police Aviation all responded to help with the search.
Multiple Sheriff’s Office and Rochester Police Department vessels are continuing to search the area.
RPD tells us the sheriff’s office, and the U.S. Coast Guard are the lead agencies on this.
