The iconic ’90s lifestyle and apparel brand dELiA*s was famous for its mail-order catalog that featured things like butterfly clips, brightly colored and flowered clothing, platform shoes and more.
Now, the brand and the catalog are making a comeback — at Target.
The Minnesota retailer confirmed to NBC Chicago that its newest collection dropped on Aug. 23 and is “currently rolling out in stores.”
Credit: Target“The assortment brings the iconic Delia’s brand to Target, offering a fresh take on its signature ’90s and early-2000s style, tapping into nostalgia for guests who grew up with the brand while introducing it to a new generation,” the company said.
The pieces include everything from graphic tees to sweaters and sweatshirts to skirts to cargo pants to accessories and more. Prices start at $8.
But it’s not just the collection.
Target said it plans to mail 1,000 catalogs featuring the new items to its affiliates and nearly 1,200 stores carrying the collab will receive catalogs to give to shoppers. No timetable was given for when the catalogs could become available, however.
Fans on social media were among the first to point out the new collection popping up in stores.
“What in the Y2K did I just walk into at Target?” one user captioned a video showing footage of the collection in stores.
“The partnership gives Target an opportunity to connect across generations by bringing back an iconic brand for Millennials, while tapping into Gen Z’s affinity for vintage aesthetics, authenticity, and nostalgia for eras they didn’t grow up in. The result is an assortment that feels both familiar and fresh,” the company said.
It’s not clear how long the collaboration is expected to last at Target.
