GENESEO, N.Y. — The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office reported that a Geneseo man was indicted back on Aug. 5 after previously putting a Livingston County Sheriff’s deputy and Geneseo Police Department officer in danger, involving weapons charges and other crimes.
Livingston County says Ian C. Hunter, 41, put a deputy and a police officer in “reasonable fear of physical injury, serious physical injury, or death” after showing a handgun and a knife in the Village of Geneseo on March 2, 2026. The indictment says Hunter also carried a stun gun, an imitation pistol, among other weapons; he also attempted to resist an arrest by an officer by running and fighting the officer.
He was charged with two counts of menacing a police officer, three counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, one count of resisting arrest, one count of obstructing governmental administration in the second degree, and one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. He later appeared in court on Aug 13.
