BROCKPORT, N.Y. — A 26-year-old man is facing various charges after Brockport Police say he tried fleeing from officers during an arrest and biting them.
Juan Galvez-Perez is charged with assault, driving while intoxicated, criminal impersonation, resisting arrest, aggravated unlicensed operation, and multiple traffic violations.
Police say they conducted a traffic stop on Aug. 22 on Fair Street in the village of Brockport. They say as a result, they learned Galvez-Perez was driving while intoxicated with a suspended license, and had a felony warrant out of Ontario County.
While trying to arrest Galvez-Perez, police say he tried to flee, and tried resisting arrest by starting a fight and biting officers. He was then taken into custody.
Galvez-Perez was brought to the Monroe County Jail and is being held on a $5,000 bail or $20,000 bond. Police say he’s being held at the jail on a felony warrant out of Ontario County for failing to appear in a possession of a weapon case.
The officers involved received minor injures and treated for those injuries at a local hospital, later being released.
Police say additional charges may be filed. The investigation remains open.
