Coronation Street airs Ollie Driscoll and Jake Windass altercation in early ITVX release

As if Christina Boyd’s (Amy Robbins) troubles aren’t bad enough, now she finds herself the reason for a back-alley brawl in Coronation Street.

Christina’s life is falling apart. Her debut on the cobbles was as the no-good scheming scammer of Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan). However, her relationship with good-natured undertaker George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) brought out her softer side.

She stood by her man through thick and thin when they were both caught up in the murder investigation of Theo Silverton (James Cartwright), who mercilessly abused their best friend Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce).

Unfortunately, some of Christina’s less-than-appealing traits have re-emerged recently, seriously threatening her relationship with George.

Suffering from spending addiction, Chrissie has run up an eye-watering debt by opening fraudulent credit cards in the name of her ex-husband Lenny, as well as her housemates Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) and George’s own sister Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger).

When her secret came out, George agreed to support Christina and accompany her to an addicts’ support group. Unfortunately, Christina’s spending spree continued behind George’s back until Todd exposed it.

Betrayed, George left the Street to visit his cousin in Somerset, a trip that he had intended to make with Christina. Now that her man had gone without her, Chrissie was left fearing for her relationship... if she even still had one.

It hasn’t helped that one of her closest confidants, Todd, has showed a real nasty streak since returning from Thailand. After visiting his mum and brother to recover from his horrendous ordeal at Theo’s hands, Todd has been going out on benders, over-indulging in booze, speaking sharply to his friends and even humiliating Glenda on a date.

In today's episode (Wednesday 26 August), tipsy Christina toppled over in the ginnel, where mischievous teen Jake Windass (Bobby Bradshaw) filmed her and emptied his water bottle on her… only for Ollie Driscoll (Raphael Akuwudike) to catch him in the act.

Furious, Ollie pinned Jake to the floor as Glenda and Christina looked on, horrified. When Christina revealed that Jake only used water, Ollie was mortified and released him.

But it was too late. Jake’s dad Gary Windass (Mikey North) arrived to pull Jake away, and ordered Ollie to stay away from his son.

It looks like Christina’s caught up in a dangerous new vendetta of her own making…
