The 2026 Playoff will have some changes. Each Power 4 champion wins an automatic bid, with the highest-ranked Group of 6 team (regardless of whether it won its conference championship) getting in as well. Notre Dame would also receive a bid if it finishes within the top 12 of the Playoff rankings.
