VICTOR, N.Y. — Two people have been charged with animal abandonment after two pit bulls were found tied to a tree in the area of High Point Drive in Victor on April 4.
According to the Ontario County Humane Society, an investigation determined that Tyquan Coles and Yameila Rodriguez had tried to surrender the dogs, named Cowboy and Champagne, to Lollypop Farm in Monroe County earlier in the day but changed their minds.
After an arrest warrant was obtained from Victor Town Court, Rodriguez was located July 28, arrested by Irondequoit Police and turned over to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office. Coles turned himself in to the Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 19, according to the Humane Society.
Both have been released on their own recognizance and will appear later in Victor Town Court.
Champagne and Cowboy both are up for adoption.
