Metra said an Amtrak train operating on the tracks struck a pedestrian at around 1:30 p.m. between the Cicero and Western stations near Albany Avenue. Information on the pedestrian’s condition wasn’t immediately available.
Metra said inbound and outbound train movement remains halted near Cicero.
Riders were advised to expect extended delays.
Train #1260, which was scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 2:20 p.m., terminated at Cicero due to the incident, authorities said.
