But just hours ahead of Manchester City's first match of the 2026/27 Premier League season this afternoon (23 August), the star took to Instagram to reveal his new look: a buzz cut.
Alongside a video of the new trim, he wrote: "New season, new trim."
In another post on Instagram, he documented the transformation with a series of pictures, writing alongside the slideshow: "Short hair don't care."
Fans were quick to express their shock and dismay in the comments, with one writing: "Noooooooooooo."
Another wrote: "Really?", while a third added: "Zlatan is furious now."
The comment appears to reference former Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who Haaland previously revealed had told him to never cut his hair.
During an appearance on James Corden’s After Hours during the World Cup, Haaland said: “Zlatan, you know what he told me? ‘Never cut your hair because the strength is in the hair'. What can I do? I have to listen to him, no?”

Manchester City will host Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, 23 August, with kick-off set for 2pm BST.
