SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. (KEYT) – A vegetation fire reached 268 acres on Highway 166 near the Caliente Mountain Trail just after 2:30 p.m. Saturday, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
The SBCFD advised drivers to use an alternate route and the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office announced an evacuation warning between Spanish Ranch and Cottonwood Canyon Road just before 3:00 p.m.
The SBCFD also believes the fire could still reach up to 1,000 acres and for the latest road closure information, visit the CalTrans District 5 website.
