ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Egyptian food and culture are on full display this weekend at St. Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Church in Henrietta.
The Egyptian Festival kicked off on Friday, bringing in people to enjoy authentic Egyptian cuisine, a bazaar, jewelry, Henna tattoos, face painting, and children’s activities. Organizers say they love to see people learn about their faith and history.
“Just seeing what we’re able to do here with the church, with this festival, having people from all over the city come out and learn, it really warms my heart,” Sophie Girgis said.
The festival runs from noon to 8 p.m. through Sunday at the church on 530 Lehigh Station Rd. There will be church tours daily. Father David Naguib told News10NBC that he enjoys teaching people about the Coptic Orthodox faith. You can learn more about the festival here.
