Four firefighters were hospitalized after battling a blaze that broke out in a vacant two-flat in Chicago on Thursday morning.
Around 11:30 a.m., Chicago fire department crews were called to a fire on the 5400 block of South Justine in the city’s Back of the Yards neighborhood.
CFD said four of its firefighters were transported to local hospitals from the scene. Three of the firefighters were initially listed in critical condition and one was in good condition.
Video posted to social media showed a ladder extended to the roof of the building. A cloud of smoke could also be seen rising from the roof.
